"The Whole World is Medicine"

Wow, I'm finally writing again. I'm really excited because I've been trying to find the perfect time to begin this blog for Phoenix since he was born. "The whole world is medicine"is a saying from the Zen tradition of Buddhism. I think it's apropo to every day of my new life as a parent. There is so much learning to cultivate about myself, my son, and this vast journey of parenthood. Today, I'm surrendering to the idea of the perfect time for this or that. With the perpetual duties of being a full time mother, the perfect time is any spare moment I can get ( read nap time )! I love to write and although I may not nourish your soul with my writing, I know I'll be nourishing mine. This blog is about Phoenix and my experiences in motherhood but I may digress a little here and there- or a lot. We'll see.
If you're wondering about the name of my blog...Josh and I started calling Phoenix Squeaker when we heard soft, sweet, squeaking noises escape from him while sleeping during the first couple of months of his life. We were in awe of him and still are. If you're a parent, I'm sure you have your own memories of the first precious sounds from your baby—your own little squeaker.  Welcome to the baby tales of our little Squeaker Phoenix and other wanderings.

  1. nice work, dear friend. You can get free blog layouts from websites. I got mine from shabby blogs. Then you don't have to settle for what blogger gives you as choices. Keep it up. You are a great writer.
